Budget Billing Program
Many members experience significant fluctuations because of seasonal factors and heating or cooling costs. If you have a good payment record and at least 12 months of billing history at your current residence, BREC’s Budget Billing Program helps manage your account by smoothing out the highs and lows associated with your electricity usage during the year. The average KWH usage for your household during the previous 12 months will be used to calculate a standard budget bill amount. You will pay that amount each month, taking some of the guesswork out of your personal finances.
Eligible members may enroll in budget billing at any time during the year. In April, all Budget Billing accounts are reviewed and if necessary, adjusted to reflect actual usage. This will help smooth large swings due to seasonal usage and will also help avoid large adjustment bills. Every October, each account is recalculated which results in a credit or amount due on the account and a new budget amount is established.
